ARGENTINA AND URUGUAY ON ONE ISLAND: EXPLORE THE BORDER!
Martín García Island is the ONLY place where Argentina and Uruguay share a land border: half of it Argentine (Martín García) and half Uruguayan (Timoteo Domínguez).
Because of its dual sovereignty, the island is a Historical Heritage Site of both countries and is where the monument to the two flags is located.
Furthermore, the island housed exiled presidents and political prisoners during the Argentine military dictatorship. The island awaits you with monuments, historical ruins, museums and a fascinating history.
